UNESCO commissioned a study to review the Health Education course (HS102) offered as mandatory course taught to all first year students at Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE). The course is delivered through a blended learning approach, combining mass lectures with an online component. The general aim of the course is to help students gain understanding and have appreciation of healthy lifestyles in the face of communicable and non-communicable diseases. BUSE collaborated with UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa in developing content for the course within the framework of an active Memorandum of Understanding. The study methodology comprised of a desk review, survey, key informant interviews, and focus group discussions. The findings of the study will contribute towards programming and advocacy on prioritizing curriculum-based health education and service provision for BUSE and the wider higher and tertiary education sector.
