The EUP booklet was commissioned by UNESCO ROSA in 2019 as part of a broader national EUP campaign. In Zimbabwe, just like the rest of the ESA region EUP affects adolescents with far reaching social, physical, economic and psychological consequences. The booklet was developed as complimentary reading and learning material for both in and out of school adolescents. It was developed through a youth led initiative that involved consultations with various sub groups including those with disabilities, HIV, representatives of the LGBTI community, from rural and urban settings, The booklet is intended at helping adolescents better understand important issues in their lives related to early and unintended pregnancy (EUP) including puberty, contraception, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and relationships, and addresses frequently asked questions, fears, myths, and misconceptions. Overall, it is aimed at contributing to increasing CSE knowledge levels among adolescents, and ultimately reduce EUP, STI,  and gender based violence (GBV) incidences
